This is an antique style mahogany filing cabinet with a red leather inset top decorated with gilt tooling. The cabinet has a traditional design with panelled sides and three drawers, which are made to appear as six smaller drawers, fitted with brass swan-neck handles and escutcheons.
The cabinet is in great condition with minor age-related wear, marks, and some fading to the wood. The red leather top has scuffs, surface wear, and discolouration from use. The brass handles show tarnish consistent with age. The drawers and runners remain functional, though the piece displays general cosmetic wear throughout.
