This is a mid Victorian bureau desk made from mahogany, featuring a sloping fall front that opens to reveal a fitted interior with small drawers and pigeonholes above a writing surface. Below the desk section are three full-width drawers, each fitted with brass handles and escutcheons. The piece stands on bracket feet and has a shaped apron along the lower edge, with a consistent grain pattern across the drawer fronts.

The desk is in good used condition, showing typical signs of wear for its age. There are surface scratches and marks to the writing area and outer surfaces, with some areas of fading and discolouration. The interior drawers and compartments are structurally sound, though some edges show wear. The brass fittings appear to be original and show tarnishing.
